LOST: New Promo Images & Funny “Leaked” Video

Another day, another set of LOST season 6 promos…

Today’s promos for the sixth and final season are a couple more sets of promo images featuring the characters of Miles and Frank, and the other is a very funny “leaked” video that supposedly takes place after an interview about the show with the writers.

As stated, the new promos images we have are of Miles and Frank, who are two of the “freighter characters” that first appeared in season 4 but have become series regulars since season 5.

Like the Ilana pics we posted, these photos don’t give away anything about what’s going to happen in the new season, but nonetheless they’re always good to see. Take a look at a couple of each

Michael & Libby Back For Final Season

If you’re disappointed that there hasn’t been any new promotional material for the final season of “LOST,” worry no longer — executive producer Carlton Cuse revealed that unseen footage will begin to appear shortly before the show’s premiere.

The news comes from the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour’s “LOST” panel, an event hosted by Cuse and his fellow showrunner Damon Lindelof, as well as cast members Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Evangeline Lilly (Kate) and Terry O’Quinn (Locke), among others.

Aside from the announcement of new footage, several other tidbits about the final season were revealed, including the return of two of the series’ most controversial characters — the murderous Michael Dawson (Harold Perrineau) and the enigmatic Libby (Cynthia Watros).

“Your Libby questions will be answered,” Cuse promised, though Lindelof quickly (and jokingly, I hope) dashed those hopes with a swift, “No they will not!”

New LOST Promo Photos & Trailer

Following the amazing “LOST Supper” image promoting the sixth and final season of ABC’s LOST comes a couple more pieces of promo material, both courtesy of LOST fan site Dark UFO. The first is a new promo trailer, which is just an extended version of the one we previously posted, but continues to hype up the final season as the huge TV event it will be.

The second piece is a bit more interesting as it offers us a fresh look (a rarity when it comes to how ABC is promoting all this) at the upcoming season in the form of a few photos showing off new series regular, Zuleikha Robinson, aka the mysterious Ilana. Take a look below for both promos.

Dominic Monaghan Looks Forward to Final SeasonFlashForward star Dominic Monaghan might have a new show, but he still fondly remembers his previous TV role on LOST. The star shared his favorite memory working on the show with reporters, as well as what he wants to see on the highly-anticipated final season.

Dominic spent several years playing Charlie Pace on the hit show and racked up a lot of happy memories while doing it, but some he wasn’t willing to share!

“My happiest memory is probably pretty private, you know?” Dominic told reporters today during a press conference for the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena. Hmm, perhaps he was referencing his relationship with former costar Evangeline Lilly!

Season Six Premiere a Go for Feb 2

Looks like the White House had chosen February 2 for President Obama’s State of the Union Address and moved it to avoid preempting LOST. Carlton Cuse just added a follow up Twitter post, “In exchange for moving his speech, Damon and I promise to answer ANY questions the President has about LOST.” It’s good to be the President.

Rest easy, LOST fans. Yesterday’s news about the White House eying February 2 for President Obama’s State of the Union address can now be shredded and tossed in the garbage can.

LOST executive producer and writer Carlton Cuse stopped by his Twitter account this morning with words of relief after yesterday’s scare. “No State of the Union conflict with LOST! We go Feb. 2!”

The fate of Jack, Hurley, Locke and the rest of LOST’s cast will continue on schedule without a delay.

A LOST Spin Off?

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have said that when LOST ends, there won’t be a spin off, a sequel, or even a feature film based on the show. When it’s done, it’s done.

ABC never got that memo.

The network says that they want to keep the show going in some way, and besides special DVDs and movies, there might also be a spin off TV show that features new characters and a new plot. [Insert heavy sigh here.] Haven’t they ever seen After MASH or The Golden Palace?

While it’s true that a spin off can be good and successful (we talked about that yesterday), most are ill-conceived and just a way for a network to keep a franchise going for ratings and $$$$$$. These seems like one of those situations.

‘LOST’ Quotes from EW’s Locke-Ben Interview

Interview with Michael Emerson and Terry O’QuinnOver the course of pop culture history, there have been many terrific two-man teams. Abbott and Costello. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Beavis and Butthead. To that illustrious list, may we submit for your consideration: Benjamin Linus and John Locke. Together, the prickly pair have driven much of the LOST saga — and the on-screen chemistry between Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn has been a key source of entertainment, dramatic and comedic. (Emerson and O’Quinn are the only two actors to date who have won Emmys on the show, most recently with Emerson snagging the trophy for best actor in the fall.)

Look back no further than last season, which brought us “Dead is Dead,” the episode that featured a tense and humorous jousting match between the two rivals and, of course, “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham,” which yielded one of the great moments in LOST history: Ben talks Locke out of hanging himself…before strangling him to death!

‘LOST’ Producers Lacking in Ideas

TV bosses decided to end hit mystery series “LOST” because they “ran out of ideas”. The show, starring Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, focuses on a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a desert island. It began in 2004 and is set to conclude this year, 2010 at the end of the sixth season.

And now co-creator Damon Lindelof has admitted some of the past episodes weren’t up to standard, and they didn’t want to risk running out of ideas again by keeping the series going. He tells the Hollywood Reporter, “Look, it would be nice to look back and say, ‘We love every episode of ‘LOST’ and every episode turned out the way we wanted it to’. There are s**tty episodes of ‘LOST’ that we wish we had never written.”

LOST Showrunners Discuss Narrative Shift And Tone Of Final Season

Is “The ‘LOST’ Supper” a little too vague to satisfy your “LOST” sweet tooth? Trust me, you haven’t seen anything yet. Showrunners and executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are veritable virtuosos when it comes to offering evasive answers — but that doesn’t make their words any less compelling.

The pair participated in a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming swan song for “LOST,” offering some insight into the narrative devices and tone of the final season.

For three seasons, “LOST” relied on the flashback as a storytelling companion to the on-island adventures. Starting with the third season’s finale, however, viewers were thrust into the future, where some of our favorite castaways had escaped the Island’s clutches, but were no less miserable. The fifth season offered yet another twist on the flashback premise, bringing the show’s cast and narrative back in time to the 1970s. But if fans thought that was crazy, Lindelof promises that they haven’t seen anything yet

LOST – The Last Supper

LOST Season 6 - The Last Supper

If you’ve been keeping up with the news about the sixth and final season of LOST, you’ll be well aware that every promo they’ve released hasn’t included any new footage or material. This is probably due to the fact that they want to keep as much in the bag as possible before the season premiere at the start of next month. And personally, as huge fan of the show who wants to be as surprised as possible when it airs, I’m digging that marketing strategy.

However, if you’re someone desperate to see something (ANYTHING) new promoting the final season then you’re in luck: ABC has released two official promo images that places the main cast from season 6 at The Last Supper (in the same vein as was used for both Battlestar Galactica and House).
